Getting started
After installing Plinth, open Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize.
Plinth is built for Shopify Online Store 2.0 and uses sections and blocks throughout the storefront.
Theme editor overview
Use the theme editor to configure global design settings and page-specific sections. Settings available to you depend on the template and section currently selected.
Header & navigation
Configure the header through the theme editor. Navigation menus are managed in Shopify Admin and assigned to the relevant menu settings.
Customer accounts use Shopify’s account component when customer accounts are enabled.
Homepage sections
Build the homepage by adding, removing, and reordering Plinth sections in the theme editor. Keep product photography and editorial content concise for the strongest presentation.
Product pages
Plinth supports product media, variant selection, quantity controls, selling plans, unit pricing, Shop Pay Installments, pickup availability, related products, and complementary products where Shopify and merchant data provide those features.
Variants and swatches
Native Shopify swatch data is supported. If no swatch data exists, Plinth falls back to text-based option values.
Product media
Supported media rendering depends on the media attached to the product in Shopify Admin.
Collections
Collection pages present product cards in responsive layouts. Collection content and product assignment are managed in Shopify Admin.
Cart & cart drawer
Plinth supports cart quantity updates, item removal, selling-plan information, unit pricing, and accelerated checkout where available.
Customer accounts
When customer accounts are enabled, Plinth uses Shopify’s native account component in both desktop and mobile header experiences.
App blocks
Compatible Shopify app blocks can be added through supported Online Store 2.0 sections. Exact app behavior depends on the installed app.
Accessibility
Plinth includes keyboard focus states, semantic navigation structures, responsive controls, and reduced-motion considerations. Merchants should also provide meaningful image alt text and accessible content.
Troubleshooting
If a feature does not appear, first confirm that the related Shopify feature, product data, market setting, or app configuration is enabled.
Configuration details may vary by store setup.
